The Massapequa Water District has retained Anthony T. Ballato as Its newly appointed legal counsel. A resident of Massapequa for 30 years, Mr. Ballato succeeded attorney James Ripton upon his retirement last year.

Anthony Ballato graduated from Adelphi University In 1983 and continued his education at Touro Law School Fuchberg Law Center, completing his course of study In 1988.

Prior to becoming counsel to the district, he was in private practice for 11 years, engaging in general practice, family law, personal injury and all areas of litigation. He carries valuable experience from past employment as an associate attorney for a prestigious Manhasset law firm that represented the Manhasset Lakevllle Water and Fire District.

Anthony Ballato Is a member of a variety of organizations Including Volunteer Lawyers Project, Sons of Italy/Columbus Lodge, Dante Foundation, Elks Lodge and the Massapequa Chamber of Commerce, among others. He provides pro bono legal services to the Massapequa Reformed Church and Long Island Greyhound Transfer (LIGHT), a rescue group for racing greyhounds, as well as indigent persons.  Since becoming counsel to the district, Mr. Ballato has already handled many important legal matters, including negotiating and concluding a valuable license agreement between the district and Omnipoint Communications. Massapequa Water District Commissioner Vincent Guadagno stated, “we have every confidence Anthony Ballato will deliver a high level of service for the benefit of our customers. We are very pleased to have him on board.”
